Two problems about journalism
To be honest, I don't know how to start. Most of the time, I have a
pessimistic view of the world, specifically about the way we relate. Nowadays,
many people only work for money, and not for knowledge or the desire to bring
something good to the world. I don't blame them (I include myself), the modern
world demands individualism.
The area of journalism is not the
exception. Personally, from a general point of view, I see two main problems in
this career, I will tell you next.
First, it is impossible not to
mention the concentration of the media. Probably, many of my colleagues already
talked about that. It is difficult to think that the media, which is supposed
to help people to be informed, are controlled for a few people.
The citizens will be informed,
obviously, but with powerful owners that only watch over their own interests,
probably they don't know all the truth. This is sad because, to create a better
world, better relationship between us and an increase of knowledge, we should
receive information without economic and political interests.
Another problem I see is that the
work of the journalist is not done with a vocation. This career demands a fast
pace; you must deliver your work quickly, and most of the time you do not have
enough time to analyze the information.
The media compete for who is most
faster. This situation means that, in first place, the journalist delivers an
incomplete information, and with this, the people can't be informed well.
The priority is the people. In the
future, I would like to say that as a journalist I do my job well, that I am a
contribution to society. As journalists, we have to fight to give the truth to
all and not to a few.

You are absolutely right because the fact that the information is so immediate one does not have time to analyze it and even one can make mistakes.
